i'm having trouble with yours rebooting my phone before I can test it.
for what it's worth this version of his patch seems to match up more with the content of the files on our phones considering it's for another msm7x27 & cdma model phone (he has 7 versions of the patch on separate threads on the xda forums but the one below is the only one I saw for our chipset).

[KERNEL PATCH] Force AC (fast) Charging - xda-developers

following this version of the patch I was modifying
    Code:
    /arch/arm/mach-msm/lge/Kconfig
        +config FORCE_FAST_CHARGE

    /arch/arm/mach-msm/lge/Makefile
        +obj-$(CONFIG_FORCE_FAST_CHARGE)

    /arch/arm/mach-msm/lge/fastchg.c
        +#include <linux/fastchg.h>

    /drivers/usb/gadget/msm72k_udc.c
        +#ifdef CONFIG_FORCE_FAST_CHARGE
        +#include <linux/fastchg.h>

    /include/linux/fastchg.h
when I try to enable it on my version with the commands:
    Code:
Fast charge can be toggled by issuing:
    echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge

    and off:
    echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
On mine I get "cannot create /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge: directory nonexistent"

Well, when in doubt I'm messaging the creator of the patch :P

Well, I'm gonna try for my phone (MS690) when it works correctly I'll upload source and try to patch VM670 as well, or if you get VM670 patched correctly I'll patch MS690 the same way and give credit to you jawz, and the original guy who made the patch.

I believe I've got it working had to add #include <linux/module.h> to the fastchg.c file. download here to test.

Just wanted to say thanks for this, flashed the kernel on my OV running MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO, phone no longer slowly runs down after reaching 100% charge. Also no longer experiencing the slow battery drain on long trips while using it with navigation apps or tethering in the car.

I have no idea. Maybe it's this site update but it works from my laptop.

I get this error while building:

I remember seeing that error msg at some point during the development of the patch though I can't remember what I did to fix it. If I can remember I'll report back.

    See the OP:
To toggle fast charging from terminal you'd need to issue the command:

    on:
    echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge

    and off:
    echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge

If you're using the jawz101 kernel it isn't because of this mod. There's a lot of other changes compared to mrg's kernel I couldn't tell you which one is helping in that regard but I'm glad there's something going on cool with it. Thanks for the feedback!

has this zip been updated since the last post on this thread? anyone running this flashable on quattrimus as well?
See the kernel version in the about section on your phone's settings menu. If the date matches with the latest date on github for my kernel it's the latest I've posted.

any major issues with any ics roms?
Unless someone ports it for one of the ICS kernels. It should work if properly ported. I know the aokp builds already have fast charging built in.

I know that I can easily fix it to build if I remove force_fast_charge in the msm###.udc file (can't remember name) but I'm pretty sure if I remove that then the mod wont work -_-

LW690 branch from BobZhome. I even copied the entire msm###.udc file and it still gave the error..his MS690 branch is broken...wouldn't boot when I built it last.
