So, I'm a noob to AC but not to root/flashing, especially Optimus S, V and T. But I see that many others are having the same problems as myself with this wonderful yet finiCky phone. I have just picked up the VM670 from a friend for 20$ and it seemed to work fine until I tried GingerBreak....it is now flashing the LG splash over and over and over with nothing that works to make it stop except the Emergency Mode button configs. Neither my Mac or Win7 Pc's will recognize them and LG does not have a support tool to update its S/W. I am afraid to use S/W used for the LS670 or Optimus S because they use totaly different Kernels but now I see why my phone is jaCked. After reading I don't know how many posts from here, AndroidForums, Androidforum, etc, etc...that I'm beginning to think I made a fatal error. P.s. what is KDZ?

KDZ is an old LG Updater tool/utility program.
It's used now to save bricked V's by going into emergency mode and using it to flash a new ZV4 or ZV5.cab file

Figured as much, as it doesn't actually work for my optimus.
Now, with what i previously stated, is my phone a perm. paperweight? What can i try next? I really don't want to download anymore "free" s/w as 4shared and other providers have proved themselves as viral for my computers!

Actually you can use the KDZ. That's what we use to flash the ZV4 or ZV5.cab file. You either have a 2.1.1 ZV4 or a 2.2.1 / 2.2.2 ZV5 LG Optimus V.
sammyz has a tutorial on it. It's near impossible to get it to work without the tutorial.
Note: You have to make sure when you download the .cab file to change it to .kdz, then delete all other instances of it from off your computer. Best way is to move to C:/ then change name. Move that to the trash. It will replicate. Put the replicated file into trash. Move renamed version back to C:/ , then delete replicated version.

Sounds crazy but it works for the ZV4. Don't know for sure about the ZV5.
If you don't get ride of all but one instance of the file it will replicate while the KDZ is trying to unpack the file. This will give an error and you won't be able to proceed any farther.

Still no ideas??? Phone still bricked and KDZ tells me "no phone connected" so I'm assuming this phone has "bit the dust"? Correct me if I'm wrong, suggestions and assistance is greatly appreciated!

There's only one other solution that I know of, and it will Bork your 3G for good if you didn't write down your AAA code.
Let me know if your interested and I'll send a link via PM.

I own multiple Optimus S, V, T, Ones, etc.
And i am unsure if i want to unbrick a phone just for it not to work with 3G service. What's the point after that?? Plain 2G or WIFI only!? Frustrated...

Sorry I was unclear. What I meant to say was no data service. WiFi, and phone will still work though. If the KP500 unbrick and sammyz's KDZ unbrick guides didn't work you will need to use a guide that flashes the Sprint Firmware onto your phone, which zero's out all codes. You then have to rewrite them into your phone. If you don't know your phones personal AAA code then no Data service

I've got the same logo bootloop problem as other people on this thread. I've tried the KDZ unbrick instructions a bunch of times and it hasn't worked. I've posted on that thread to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm posting here looking for some too. I have two bricks and one good VM670. I've tried to KDZ unbrick with the ZV5. Does someone have the ZV4 file handy? I've looked and can't seem to find it. I'm wondering if KDZ unbrick would work with ZV4 instead of ZV5. Just a thought.

Also, how do you get the AAA code for the phone? This is new stuff for me so if I ask a stupid question, just let me know. Still learning this stuff. I've tried adb shell and it says it can't see any devices. Even when the phone is in download mode. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

EDIT: Ok. think I found how to get the AAA code at this link. Does this look right?

The ZV4 file will only work with a ZV4 phone.
The AAA code needed to be obtained before bricking the phone.
Go to theYahoo search engine and search: Unbricking your Optimus V.
It should list a result from Android Central Forums.
That's the one you need.

When done read this post: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...aaa-password-off-optimus-v-2.html#post5531562.
Then go to first post.
Might get your AAA code written back?

Thanks for the quick reply AndyOpie150. I'll check it out tonight.

EDIT: One thing. Is this going to kill the 3G data on the phone if I can't get the AAA code?

EDIT AGAIN: Never mind.... Read the post you had listed about resetting the AAA code... Thanks a bunch.

Ok. Tried the unbrick you suggested. Finished step 4 "Open LGNPST.exe as administrator, and select the bin in step 2-D" and phone rebooted fine. No more bootloop. Unfortunately, no screen either. I can see that the backlight for the screen is on but there is nothing being displayed. I can now get into recovery mode and I've tried recovery flash with two different images using adb. The recovery seems to go smoothly but again, no screen display. I know the phone boots up ok because I get this nice jingle followed by crickets a couple of seconds after I power on. Any help would be appreciated. At least it isn't bricked anymore but a display is a must have....

I'm going to need mor info.
What have you done since the actual Emergency mode flashing of the .bin file? Be as specific as possible so I can determine what happened, and thus, what corrective action needs to be performed.

My friend's V has met the same fate: he was updating some apps on Play Store and then boom, it went into the LG boot logo loop and flashing the key lights.
