I have my optimus v rooted using the methods from the pinned post. I used superuser with " uninstaller for root ( app ) " to get rid of the bloatware. I tried using setcpu to overclock but it doesnt go past 600 Mhz.. i dont really want a custom rom , is there an easier way to overclock

you can use stock rom +xiona (sp) kernel and oc to 806mhz fine. dl link should be on the forum somewhere

Sorry, newby question here... Can you jusy add xiona kernel to stock os after rooting, or do you have to flash the whole 'stock +xiona? rom. I would like to keep my current stock rom and overclock it... Just wondering if i'd lose all of my apps and settings.

I flashed it all and did not lose any apps. Just wipe delvik cache before flashing rom
