If you ever install an app that causes a cascade of force closes on boot, or causes your phone to get stuck in a boot loop, you can boot into Safe Mode to uninstall the app using this technique.

With the phone off, press and hold the Menu button, then power on the phone while continuing to hold the Menu button until the phone is completely booted up. You'll see the words "Safe Mode" in the bottom left-hand corner when it has booted to the Home Screen. You can now uninstall the offending app.
