    Default Gmail/Virus problem

I guess I should post this here, since it's not really android related. Got a friend who got hit with a virus while I was out of town; someone else cleaned it and installed AVG for her. But now she cannot access the gmail website from her computer. She can log in from other computers, get her email on her itouch, but some kind of proxy embedded itself into her computer. If you try to go to gmail, or https gmail, it redirects and you just get a "cant display page" error.

I tried installing firefox just to see if a different browser would allow access but to no avail. Any thoughts short of wiping and doing a fresh install?

edit: should add that she's running an hp with win7

Download and install MalwareBytes. Run it and see if it clears.
