Vizio VTAB1008: Loose power jack/no boot

Hi, all. Longtime lurker, introduction coming in minutes.

Vizio VTAB1008. Power jack is loose. I can put in USB charging cable and get the red light to come on (with a wiggle). Left it like that for three hours. When I hit the power button the soft buttons flash. and that's it.

I bought it for $5.00 at a garage sale and I have no wall adapter.

If I could get it up and running, I could see the serial number and see if Vizio would cover a repair.

Help?

I had the same problem with my Vizio Tablet. I had to provide proof of purchase before they would replace my tablet. They were very easy to work with.

The replacement tablet has not had a problem with the loose charging jack. We have had it for 6 months now.

The AC adapter can be found on Amazon for about 14.95 plus shipping. Don't know if that will solve your problem of getting enough charge to retrieve the S/N.
