Just wanted to mention a 7" kids tablet that just came out that is really good even for adults. It's not quite a Nexus 7, but is really geared towards kids, can access Amazon's appstore, and probably a workaround for Google Play will be available soon (it was for the original Nabi). I've successfully sideloaded all Google apps and all of them work great with one exception - haven't been able to sign into my Youtube account. You can Skype with this thing, which is great for the kids getting to have more facetime (pun intended!) with grandma.
