Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
Haven't heard of any future phones, their website says more will be out later this year. I foolishly picked up the Aviator last Thursday and HATE it. there's no clock on the main screen of the phone, there's no message notification light on the phone, there's no vibrate setting between ring and silent and you can't rotate pictures that you take. That's just the list of dislikes from 4 days with the phone. I have 30 days so I'm planning to take it back and go back to my HTC Desire, even though I have to charge it twice a day, until something other than a Samsung is released.

I am also curious to know what other phones will be coming out.... Considered the Aviator, but the specs were lower than my Mesmerize with the exception of 4g and screen size. Love the specs on the Electrify but don't want to get another phone unless it is 4g capable since 4g service is already available where I live and keeps spreading more and more each day. If anyone hears of any new 4g devices for usc make sure to post them so the rest of us can begin salivating over them until the release date gets here.

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
I live in Wauwatosa and go to school in downtown Milwaukee. The Aviator would couldn't connect to 4G on the Marquette University campus, and when I was in 4G service, the battery would drain super fast. The solution I was given by a USC employee was to turn off the 4G option when I didn't need it. It was too much of a hassle. I took the Aviator back and switched to the Electrify. Hopefully in 18 months, they'll have a better grasp on 4G.

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
It looks like a variant of the Samsung Stratosphere (SCH-i405) with lte is coming to US Cellular, according to the FCC filing on phone scoop.

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
The way that US Cellular runs their business they will never have a top of the line phone but their prices are good and both their cellular and customer service are solid. I recently sent them an email asking if they'll activate unlocked phones and if so, what do I need to look for when purchasing one. Sure it's a lot more money, but I don't want to leave US Cellular. I'll let you know how they respond.
In the mean time, has anyone else tried to go this route? If so, how did it turn out? - 05-07-2012, 10:27 AM

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
Yeah, I totally agree with you on their service. I ended up jumping on the SGSII for now. Used my wife's upgrade since she never will.... when a better 4G phone is released, I'll worry about it then. For now though, I'm liking the S II. I was done with the slowness and other problems with my Mesmerize.

Kevin, I have to agree with the mesmerize problems.... Funny they stopped selling the mesmerize and have now brought it back to the lineup to compete with its second generation counterpart.... Ordered my wife a GS2 tonight so will hopefully see if it can hold up well enough for me to forget 4g right now and just get one myself.

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
Just wondering what sites you guys visit to hear news on USCC phones. Right now I have the Electrify, (which I hate, stupid PenTile display). I have 2 months about till I can upgrade. I was thinking about the Aviator but the GS II looks better. The Aviator has a better DPI but ty specs. A phone with a slide out keyboard would be nice too (I'm weird like that).

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
i have the electrify its alright but i want a keyboard. I'm not a fan of slide out keyboards. USCellular has been ticking me off lately I downloaded the trial for Mobile TV, had it for less than a day, & have been getting charged since December for something I don't even have on my phone.. my bill just went up $10 more per month with no explanation. I'm looking into switching to boost mobile. ordered the Samsung replenish with a keyboard

Re: US Cellular 4G Phones
the gs3 will not come anytime in the near future. Imo. Tmo is getting it in june and thats gsm. Uscc always test the phones for months on end which makes them way behind in releases. Since the gs2 was releasedabit ago they certainly arent gonna immediately get the gs3 and throw the gs2 out the window. Remember uscc normally gets the phones after big companies have had them a few months. So its not real likely for them to pick it up over sprint, vzw, etc.
As for the razr last i heard is that it wont be 4g which makes me wonder why bother with it then. - 06-04-2012, 10:52 AM
