Hello AC Forums.

Today I went into my Settings and tapped Data Usage. I was shocked to find that what has been taking up the most data over the past 3 days was the speed test app. In fact it used more that 3 times the second most data using app (Google Play). I ran the test 5 times from different spots around my house, trying to determine where I have the best signal. And so, after 5 tests, I used more than 17 MB of data. Now that might not sound like a lot to some of you, but for those like me on a small amount of data per month: be careful when using the Speed Test App!

+1! This is a real question.

On the other hand it is 100% correct. IT does take a good amount of data to run the speed test. I ran it a few times and noticed this a long time ago.

Isn't the whole point of a SpeedTest app to test how much data downloaded and uploaded will take (speed wise)?

I noticed the high data consumption also, but no big deal for occasional use to me.

Yes lol that's why I said I don't c the point of capped data now days. What's the point of having 50mb dl speeds if u got a 2gb cap haha

I knew it used data, I just didn't realize how much.

ahhhh. I see. It does use a fair bit. Guess I never paid attention to if as o have yet to hit 3Gb yet. Getting close though.
