I'm getting a straight talk Samsung precedent for a friend. Does it come with a SIM card? I think it does but want to cover my bases. I see that they sell SIM cards so that messed with my brain. Thanks

To my knowledge, all Straight Talk branded phones run on CDMA networks (could be Sprint, could be Verizon - depends on the device) and do not use SIM cards at all. Their SIM card option is only for customers that bring their own unlocked GSM phones.
I was thinking that at one time, Straight Talk sold several GSM phones with sim cards, the Nokia e71 was one example.Quote:

Yeah, I don't think that's the case anymore, though. I'm fairly certain that all their current branded handsets are CDMA and carrier-locked.
