Default Nexus 5 vs lg g2??

I am now done to two phones to buy. It's between the g2 and the nexus 5. The g2 is on amazon for unlocked 400$-500$ it's quite a good price for unlocked g2 and I do like the lg ui for android. No bezels with both phones is a plus. Nexus 5 will always get the updates first but I am going to be using the tmo prepiad plan 100 minutes unlimited text and web. I use line app calling a lot on the iPhone 5 so I plan on using it on the new phone I pick. Any other suggestions or advantages for nexus 5 or g2?

I'd go for the Nexus 5, mainly because I'm not a fan of LG's UI or of the power/volume buttons being on the back of the phone.

I personally like the Nexus 5 better.. I like the so called "Vanilla" android experience and I played around with the G2 and I am not very big on the power/volume button layout on the device.. I toyed around with it a little plus the G Flex and I don't like the buttons back there... I am sure you'd get use to it as I remember my first 4.3 inch device... I thought there is no way I can handle a phone this big and now I am looking at the Oneplus or maybe even the Note 4 when it comes out.... So you do adjust...

I just switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and that $30 prepaid plan.... I found I was only averaging like 80 - 90 minutes per month of talk time between nights and weekends, mobile to mobile and anytime minutes but I didn't want to lose unlimited data and I send plenty of text messages... So far it's been a great little plan for $30 per month.... and here in Dallas (at least where I live, work and play) T-Mobile's LTE coverage is ten times better than Sprint and almost 20 times faster...

Go with the Nexus 5 though.. I love the device..

The only reason to buy the G2 is for the camera (which is better). And if you can tolerate the weird button placement, LG's UI overlay, and the slower and less reliable updates.

If the G2 had vanilla Android I probably would have gotten it. I might be able to get past the buttons, but I can't get past LGs UI.

With the price drop of the G2.... honestly, if I had to make a choice today, it'd be a hard one. I don't really factor in the UI at all since I'd probably flash a custom rom the instant I took it out of the box. Once I go that route, the G2 basically ends up being an slightly upgraded Nexus 5 with a different button arrangement. Would I want to spend a little bit more for storage, better camera and battery? Who knows.... but the software experience would essentially be the same since my ROM of choice is available for both devices.

But I have my Nexus 5... love the thing...and while the G2 is a great phone, I would really have no reason to switch at this point.

Go with the G2 if you plan on rooting and flashing your favorite ROM. Better camera and battery life is great.

I learned the hard way with the Rezound that ROM updates are largely dependent on vendor support. If you have a vendor that is not going to update it, and/or refuses to release the source code, your updates will come very very slowly if at all. Developers rely on the vendors for behind the scenes stuff like drivers. Thats why things (like the camera for example) are typically broken on vendor-unsupported ROM for a long time.

It took FORever to get KitKat on the Rezound (like a year), even though the Rezound's hardware supports it great. So after that experience, never again. I am staying with stock android phones that will be more likely to be supported.

I can't decide which one to go with. I have a iPhone 5s that gets 1-2 bars of 3G in my house. Which one should I go with??
