How come my camera won't focus?!??!

I've had this problem for a while now. My nexus 5 camera won't focus. It just gives my those red lines. When Google updates their camera so I thought it was fixed. But when I checked it wasn't! I uninstalled the update to see if I can fix it from the previous version but I just can't! All it does is show me red lines!! Help please!?!?!

I get that problem too on my GS5, you just have to keep readjusting the picture and eventually the camera should focus

It seems that you may have a defective camera on your Nexus 5.

I've realized that focusing can be a bit hit or miss on the Nexus 5, but it usually corrected by a simple tap on the screen in the right direction.

However if your phone completely doesn't focus at all, you'll need to get it replaced.

But do try a hard reset before requesting a replacement.
