Default Indiana Mall: No Hoodie rule

An Indiana mall has posted a sign asking visitors to lower their hood if wearing a hoodie. Some are finding it offensive. Thoughts?

I guess I don't see how that's supposed to be offensive, unless you walk around with a chip on your shoulder waiting for someone to knock it off. It's pretty childish.

I can understand if they'd had a rash of thefts where the thief's face was obscured by the hoods. Other than that, I don't see what the big deal is.

LOL.... I suppose the obvious question is why would you want your hood up inside? Or is it an outside mall??

The Mall of America in MN does the same thing. Not really that big of a deal, I can't image how it's offensive. Is the "wear shoes" rule offensive? I wear my hood up sometimes, but it's usually because I had it on outside and forgot to take it off. That or if I don't want people to talk to me, for some reason that seems to work.

I am starting to wonder who these shoppers were that said, they're offended by signs posted at entrances to the Mounds Mall asking visitors to lower their hooded sweatshirts while inside. Who are these shoppers? A bunch of kids who think they're being picked on?

I am not sure how to respond to these stories anymore. People look for things to be offended over these days.

I think that it is a good idea. It may help in identifying a robbery suspect if their head isn't covered.

It's pretty common in other places, so I say its about as offensive as requiring patrons to wear shoes.

If I had to guess, I'd say that's probably right. Remember the days when people simply took off their hats and hoods when entering out of respect for the establishments?

Right? Off topic: everyone who has played assassin's creed knows that you put the hood on when hiding from guards or killing templars, but when you're just strolling around town or sitting at the bar, the hood is off. You're an assassin, not a hooligan.
