Default Freedom Of The Press - Where Does The U.S. Rank?

Interesting article. Where does the U.S. rank? We have to be number 1 or 2, correct? Ah, no. Here's a snip:

....This has been the case in the United States (46th), which fell 13 places, one of the most significant declines, amid increased efforts to track down whistleblowers and the sources of leaks....

LOL! you certainly wouldn't expect 46th place.

I hate to admit it, but it sounds about right to me. Just look at the Iraq war. Journalists were afraid to report the FACTS. They wanted to get in good with the administration and the larger news organizations stood for nothing. What's even worse is when these large news organizations report propaganda as fact. One of the reasons I'm perfectly fine with Wikileaks is that they are reporting purely fact. They don't take into consideration whether or not it will benefit or hurt a country. They just report. I vaguely remember when the U.S. news media did the same.
