    CNN -- U.S. to take at least 10,000 more Syrian refugees

    Under the Obama administration, the US will be taking in at least 10,000 refugees affected by the Syrian civil war. This will apply in the next fiscal year.

    Human rights groups would like the US to take in 65,000 Syrian refugees. The current quota is 75,000 refugees world-wide.

    Is this another example of the United States taking a positive step to aid those less fortunate in the Middle East?

    Same as Australia as taking 10,000 aswell, but you have 16x the the population as us. Least it's a step in the right direction.

    I've heard a couple reports of the refugees clashing with each other over religious views and power struggles in their settling countries. So if they can't leave the country without bringing their infighting with them, then I have to question if we should take in any of them.

    The US may be increasing the number of refugees that it will take in:
