I want to root my phone So i can use root apps.

once its done, as long as I dont start using roms or stuff I dont know about will I be safe from bricking my phone?
as of right now the only root apps I will be using is WiFiKill and 6 axis Controller
Will i get in trouble from Verizon? My parents are Only paying for my phone bill until the contract expires. If I get them in trouble im dead.
