[16/Nov][ROOTING/UNROOTING] DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit [v3.0](zergRush Exploit) - xda-developers
This is for GingerBread Only.......I have a new link for ICS
I used Doomlord_v3_root
I had it working within 5 minutes.
Version 2.3.5 only...........

I just moved from fascinate and noticed not much info yet on rooting Droid Razr.
Found it over on XDA forums

Also here are the drivers for the phone to work on PC only
USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

Read before you do........just wanted to pass on the information

no problem glad i could help........by the way after you root get titanium backup Pro($6 i believe) and freeze
the bloat you don't need or want versus deleting any files. Its much easier.
That way when we get ICS it will be easier to download and install because
nothing been removed......FYI
It works great too.

Just push this one file for root? No cwr or does this bring cwr?

Want to run root stock for now. When ita comes, ignore?

Lastly how hard is this thing to brick? My fascinate was non brickable.

Thanks

Re: root method from xda

Guys!

I'm new at this. I couldn't root my razr. I've installed motorola software, switched to pc mode and noticed adb drivers being installed on my xp-sp3. When I run runme bat I get:
"--- DEVICE FOUND
--- pushing busybox
--- correcting permissions
--- remounting /system
mount: permission denied (are you root?) --- checking free space on /system
--- Free space on /system : 206145 bytes --- no cleanup required --- copying busybox to /system/xbin/
/system/xbin/busybox: cannot open for write: Read-only file system --- correcting ownership
Unable to chmod /system/xbin/busybox: No such file or directory --- correcting permissions
Unable to chmod /system/xbin/busybox: No such file or directory --- installing busybox
/system/xbin/busybox: not found --- pushing SU binary
--- correcting ownership
Unable to chmod /system/bin/su: No such file or directory --- correcting permissions
Unable to chmod /system/bin/su: No such file or directory --- correcting symlinks
rm failed for /system/xbin/su, Read-only file system link failed Read-only file system --- pushing Superuser app
--- cleaning
--- rebooting
ALL DONE!!!"

What am I doing wrong?
TIA

Re: root method from xda

make sure usb debugging and unknown sources are checked in Settings.
then try a different selection than PC Mode....try USB Storage Mode and see if that helps
