SD card is lost when (temp) rooting

anyone have this issue, where they lose access to the external SD card, cant find it with OI file manager either, no pictures show up. I have to reboot to get them back, but when i reboot ofcoarse I lose root.

this is a pain cause I have to be rooted to run hot spot.

You just have to remount it. Go into settings -> SD card & storage. Choose.mount SD card.

i did remount it, pics wont show on my external sd card.

under further review it seems to be my widget i set up to mount an remount is not working correctly for some reason, it mounts and remounts it, but something is screwy with it as it doesnt mount it quite right

Toggle widgets have an issue about 10% of the time. Usually, you can fix this by deleting the widget and putting it on your screen again.
If mounting the SD card doesn't display whatever you previously had, force close and restart the app you're using to view your pictures. If they still don't show, reboot your phone. This should solve your problem.

I'm having a slightly different problem in that when connected to my windows 7 powered laptop that sdcard is not mounting/appearing/being recognized by the laptop. I've deleted/reinstalled drivers and cleantool, rebooted phone and laptop, checked settings for charge only, usb debugging, sdcard mounted, etc. with no effect.

Any ideas or help appreciated.

Just in general but it was recognizing the sdcard until a day or two ago but not now.

I may have misunderstood your post, but if you're making sure that your phone is on "charge only", the SD card won't show on your laptop. You have to select the mount option instead.

Hahaha, good catch. That would kinda spoil the party wouldn't it.
