Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
Just a note that if you are unlocked the download instructions state you must be locked for this to work. When I RUU'd the 3.11.605.22 build I had to re-lock first. Have you used this new build? What are the improvements and are they worth going through the process again? I'm running Scott's CleanRom Pro Edition 4.2 and it seems to be running great for my use.

Might want to mention which internal storage it goes to, it took me a bit to figure it out...

Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
any back up tools that don't require root?
I'd like to back up using titanium, but then I'd have to unlock, root, then relock to use this RUU... right? - 05-10-2012, 02:42 PM

After installing RUU, to re-root do we just unlock & go to AMON RA recovery and install SU

For everyone else, make sure that fastboot is turned off.
Forgive my ignorance, I'm a little rusty with HTC stuff...how do I turn off fastboot? Thanks in advance. - 05-11-2012, 12:46 PM

Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
I figured it was simple, for the life of me I thought I checked everywhere in settings. Thanks very much!

Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
So, just to be ridiculously over-specified and clear:
If you're unlocked, you only need to lock. It doesn't matter if you were rooted, or if you had installed a different ROM prior.
Things I'd been reading about the previous leaks indicated you needed to be stock/locked, OR unlocked with S-OFF. Or so I thought.
Anyway, in my case, specifically, I'm running the stock GB ROM, but unlocked and rooted (with various root-needing apps like SetCPU and TiBu installed). So, if I go and lock and then proceed, should be good, yes?
Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated. - 05-11-2012, 01:05 PM

Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
This is a very well thought out and easy to follow How-To. I'm sure once official ICS hits, Tons of people, including myself, would enjoy a How-To on relocking and stock RUUing.
Hell, you already have one sticky on the ROMing section, might as well get this one up there and go for a three-peat.

Re: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU
Thanks for the answer.
It went perfectly, except I didn't seem to need to flash it twice...at least not manually. It seemed to go through flashing twice on its own, and then came up all singing and dancing ICS goodness.
Again--thanks!
