Likely a variant to the G Pad to be honest, I do not think they would release another small tablet already since the Nexus 7 2013 released not that long ago.

I do think the next "nexus 7" will in fact be an 8 inch screen but just do not see it happening right now.

I think the sweetspot is the 8" size tablet! Google may give the iPad Mini Retina some competition in the holiday season if it is release at the same time as the later November iPad Mini Retina is suppose to be released. The Nexus 7 is just not the same form factor as the 7.9" Mini Retina. A 8" Nexus will give it a good run because it will be as new technology wise as the Mini Retina and be lower in price too. Hopefully, Google will step on the RAM to 64GBs.

Killjoy! The lack of a decent, affordable 8" tablet is the main reason I do not have a tablet. 7" is too small, 10" is too big. 8", now that is just right.

Some people want vanilla android though, and the thought it would be cheaper than the G pad (though I do agree thats a great tablet and perfect size)

I have a LG device (G2) and a Nexus 7. I think I like the LG skin a little better.

There is another photo of an unknown Nexus tablet in the Play Store. Just click through the Nexus 7 photo gallery. We've already collected some information over at MobileGeeks forums and I've asked the Creative Director (who was part of the "Lifestyle Photography" campaign) WTH is going on. He uploaded the pictures to his blog, back in July 2013
