Interestingly, there is a dual camera setup with the phone featuring a circular hump and flash located at the bottom

Up front is a 5.5-inch display with the same oblong fingerprint sensor found on the G5/Plus.

In the specs department, this alleged 2017 Moto X also has interesting hardware. Rather than opting for an 820 or even 835, this phone will use a Snapdragon 625 with only 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Regarded for providing great battery life on the Moto Z Play, this move might signal the X dropping down from its former flagship position.

Snapdragon 660?

http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...-snapdragon-660-3800mah-battery-dual-cameras/

the X4 would have a 5.5" screen of unknown resolution, the brand new Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, laser autofocus, and a massive 3800mAh battery.*

From the presentation slide itself, we can see that the phone will have a metal body, 3D glass (almost certainly just glass with slightly curved edges), a 'smart camera,' IP68 water and dust resistance (a rarity for Moto), 'AI integration' (perhaps a custom voice assistant à la Bixby?), always-on voice (most Moto devices already have that), 3xCA (3x carrier aggregation), and Turbo Charging.

Here is my guess on Lenovorola's strategy with their 2017 line up of devices (just gathered from the leaks/rumors)

If they all hold true I believe the Moto X4 will be the spiritual successor to the Moto Z Play of this gen.

The reason I say this is due to the leaks that claim the 2nd Moto Z Play will lose its big battery in favor of a slimmer design. On the other hand, this Moto X4 device that's been leaking out shows specs more in line with what a newer Moto Z Play would have, including a large battery, just with the lack of Moto Mod compatibility.

This puts Moto's device line-up in a better position for consumers because it allows 3 price tiers of "Modular Phones" for the people interested in that feature and now adds back in a competitor for the Chinese manufactured "flagship killers" for people who want a decent phone for a reasonable price. That is, if Moto ends up marketing it accordingly.

Only time will tell! Just my two cents...lol

Maybe there is no regular Moto Z this year, just a Play and a Force.

5.2" screen with an energy efficient processor and 3800 mAh battery? This thing might just last longer than the current Moto Z Play.

looks like a better spec'd G5 Plus, not that that is a bad thing, but its just not very revolutionary. I currently have the Moto X Pure Edition and love it. Not sure why they just didn't build on this model - better battery, camera and so on. I'm used to the 5.7" screen so will probably look elsewhere. Any idea if Moto will do a Moto X4 Plus with a bigger screen?

Motorola is scheduled to have an event on June 21st, but that might not be the last we hear from them in June. According to a new rumor, the Moto X4 will be out on June 30th. We’re not sure if that means it will be announced or available for purchase on that day. It’s possible Motorola could announce it on the June 21st event and launch on the 30th.

The rumor also lists a bunch of specs for the Moto X4. It will have an all-glass build, dual cameras, Snapdragon 660 processor, IP68 waterproofing, fast charging 3.0, 3800 mAh battery, and USB Type C.

With USB-C, I doubt this would have Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0/3.0. It's more likely it will take advantage of Motorola's TurboPower 30 for 28.5W charging over USB Type C.

Re: Second Generation Motorola Moto Z and Moto Z Force (Moto Z2, Moto Z 2017)

Brazil may get Moto X4 launch on June 21 | Pocketnow

It is not immediately clear if the Moto X4 — rumored to be stocked with a Snapdragon 660 — will be the device in focus, but Motorola Fans reports that Brazil has been the centerpiece for Motorola with the launch of the Moto Z2 Play last week.

Andri Yatim, a self-proclaimed Motorola enthusiast, claims that among other things (pointed out earlier, even) the Moto X4 will cost around $325, rated IP68 for particulate and immersion protection, a dual-camera system and a 3,800mAh battery. A more vague June 30 launch date is mentioned here.

Moto X4 Leak, Images, Specifications and Price

If leaks are to be believed, this device will be launched on June 30th at a price of Rs.Rs 20,999. Reports suggest that the new Moto X4 may be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and internal storage of 64GB. It is may even have AI onboard. The most interesting rumour is that the new Moto X4 is likely to be IP68 certified, which is something that has remained missing from Moto devices.

Yep, all rumours here in Brazil say that Motorola will present on the 21st in São Paulo the G5S, the X4 or even the Z2 Force. My bet, the G5S, my wish, the X4. :)

I'll be willing to check out an X4. I might get it through my carrier, but that would depend mainly on the cost.
