Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

I've grown so used to it that it's almost an essential part of my phone interaction now. Here is my typical usage:

I put my phone on silent while I'm at work and it sits nearby me where I can see it out of the corner of my eye. The LED notification is essentially the only way for me to know that I've received something, and it works like this:

Light-red blink: K-9 Hotmail received
Blue blink: Facebook alert received
Light-blue blink: Handcent Text Message received
Red blink: Phone call missed
Green blink: Gmail or Google+ alert received

What I like about this setup is that, when I'm at home and missed an alert, I can tell what it was just by the color of the light. It's similar to having different ringtone/alert sounds for different apps. I don't care much about Facebook and hotmail, so when I see those alerts I can ignore it if something more pressing is at hand. But a missed call or a text message makes me want to check immediately.

Is that using NoLED? If not, what phone do you have, and if its a DINC, how did you do that?

I agree October is probably not happening, but it should be November/December. I will get the Bionic, S2, or Prime. I will not wait for anything after that.

I want the best dual core 4G phone available that is out at the end of the year or sooner.

I understand that it is only using small sections of the screen at once, but how much would something like NoLED hurt battery life? I would assume that it would be only a tiny amount used, but definitely more then having your screen completely off.

Also, does anyone actually truly believe that the prime is going to come out that soon? That seems almost impossible to me. I can't imagine that they are that far along in the process and they only have four months to finish everything? Maybe I am just overly skeptical due to all of the rumored release dates being off by months recently.

I am currently using NoLED and my battery drain is not hardly affected by NoLED.

My 2? on the led: its a cool idea, but I never use it. I'm so twitter obsessed that I have my app check every 10 minutes (yea, I know, battery drain etc.), and on a dinc there is no custom colors, its just green for a notification and red for low battery, so mine is blinking all the time, I pretty much ignore it at this point.

I have the Moto Droid 1. It has a multi-color LED notification light. It's pretty small and virtually undetectable when not lit up. One of the reasons I'm strongly considering the Bionic is because Moto tends to include the LED notification light on most of their phones. But if the Prime came out in October and had one I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

Ya, when I looked throught the settings I couldn't find anything.

And ok, I think that should be included on all phones. As in, the multicolored LED light.

For what it's worth, Phil commented on page 2 that he removed the word "unconfirmed" from the post. Take that as you will...

So if Phil does indeed know/has had confirmation, why remain so secretive?

Maybe he already gave all the information he has. He could have just got confirmation that it is coming to VZW and that's all.

I have no idea. Just saying....

Maybe he just posted what he could or wanted. If Phil new more and just straight told all the information then what would everyone talk about lol. I believe Phil said what he could/needed to and everyone here can talk and speculate the rest. makes for some interesting reading i say. I mean there's like 2 pages just on led lighting lol ... Nothing is for sure till it is offically confirmed.

I like what some people have to say. My main thing is the 4.6 inch screen , that will be awesome...

Im sure as soon as there is more to tell he will...

Sooooo phil just removed unconfirmed for shizt and grins? He wouldn't do that just on a whim. Cmon now

Really? No offense, but you do understand what confirmed means right? And the definition of rumor? I'm not saying he's wrong, but no one else has caught wind of this at all. There's no blurry can shot. There's nothing. Hell, devices change while they're being made. Until its actually CONFIRMED, like by another outlet, or source, nothing is actually known. Sorry people, that's just the truth. He may be 100% right, or he could be 100% wrong or anything in between. I'll wait for something a bit more tangible than a forum post

Well, people are using "confirmed" in different contexts. I'm sure Phil removed "unconfirmed" because he trusts his source and he has reliable second-hand information that this phone is actually happening.

However, nothing is "officially confirmed" until it comes directly from somebody at Verizon/Samsung. That is the type of confirmation that some people are waiting for.

Exactly. Or from another reputable source
