What do you guys think, should a person grab a Nexus or wait for the SG3 which should be released soon? I don't like not having a memory slot and the 5mp camera, hmmm.

That is a decision only you can make. No matter what you buy, no matter when you buy it, something better will be coming out soon thereafter. I went ahead and bought a Nexus 2 weeks ago. The form factor is a huge improvement over the Thunderbolt brick I was carrying, so to me it was worth it. But I have never filled the memory of a phone and only take simple pictures for emailing to friends, so the things you mention are not a big deal to me. The next set of phone will likely have quad core, but I don't care about that either as dual has more than enough power for anything I'm doing. My gut tells me the next BIG advance will be VoLTE and that is still roughly a year from now, so I didn't want to wait for that and just accept that when it arrives roughly half way into my two year contract, I might just have to pay full freight for that upgrade.

Agreed. Was only wondering because of the timeline of the SG3. Maybe I should just see if anything is announced next month.

If the Galaxy Nexus was available for Sprint today I would go out and buy it. Whether or not something better will come out by the time it finally does though is the question.

Agree on the VoLTE plus by then (say 1/2013) the VZ LTE network should be pretty much built out, 2nd/3rd gen LTE should have better Battery life and Mid-Tier Phones should have qHD displays and dual core with decent battery life. VoLTE will be interesting because then everything is data - how is VZ gonna charge us for that. Right now, you pay for a certain # of voice minutes (for most very few anymore) and a certain amount of data (although VOIP is usually pretty lite on the data side). Be interesting to see. VoLTE is also supposed to have great voice quality vs CDMA or GSM. I'm doing just fine on my 3G Dinc 2 and looking at Thanksgiving/XMas for a great deal on a new phone.
