Why are all the new phones insisting on being over 4" screens? I recently tried out the rezound and just can't get into the bigger phones. I have had my Dinc since launch and find it to be just about the right size. Am I alone on this? I really don't want a phone that is too big and need both hands to use. I hate to say this but if this is the only future for android I may have to turn to the darkside of apple if the smallest option is 4.3

I think you're in the minority here. Most want bigger screens (though there is an upper limit).

Devices in the 4.3 range are becoming the norm for a reason: namely, increasing consumer demand. The screen size on the iPhone is pitiful and ill-suited for documents and browsing. Expect them to copy that Android feature as well in the iPhone 5 and beyond, with a much larger screen on a larger overall device. Apple is a master of copying and then hyping design features of others and claiming they were the original innovators (e.g., pull down notification bar, widgets, etc.).

Speaking for myself, the screen on the Galaxy Nexus is of ideal size and I could never go to a screen that was significantly smaller. I have no issues using devices of this size one-handed.

Minority definitely! Bigger screens are in for the most part. I'm using a EVO 3D and i feel like I have a mini laptop in my pocket.

The GNex chassis is as large as I'm willing to go. A larger screen wouldn't be unwelcome though.

I'm with the minority then. I think the 4 inch is the sweet spot for a phone. 4.3 inch could work if the form factor was done correctly. DInc2 is probably closest to a perfect size smart phone. It is a phone after all. Anything bigger than a 4.5 is looking more like a tablet. Kinda like the watch industry. Everyone thinks bigger is better, but at some point it does get ridiculous.

I totaly agree with you

I bought a galaxy nexus then could not feel comfortable with its size and was forced to return it.

I think that any thing above 4.3 is way too much.

A phone should be 4 - 4.3

and above 4.5 is almost a tablet

I'm right there with you. I've still got my DInc because I haven't liked any of the new phones enough yet. My wife got the Rezound and absolutely loves it but its just too large to use comfortable for me for as much as I use my phone. I would love a high end HTC phone with LTE and a 4.0" sreen, I might even take a 4.3" if it was almost all screen and little bezel. Unfortunately though, I don't think we're going to be seeing the high end hardware in that size range anymore, at best we're going to be getting stuck with mid-range devices. I'm waiting to see what MWC brings to Verizon and will decide from there.

The Motorola Atrix 3 looks like it will be perfect for people who want a normal sized phone instead of a small tablet. Rumors have it with a 4.3" screen, Tegra 3, 3300 mAh battery. Looks good to me.

I love my Rezound (mostly because it's like the Dinc), but I often will find my Incredible and realize how much I really like the size of it. most screens seem way too large for my taste. Once I got used to the Rezound, it seems fine, but I miss the feel of that smaller screen... so, I'm in the minority , too.
And actually, I've seen on this forum, people hoping for a high end Dinc 3 with the same smaller screen size.
We're not alone!

It's funny that people says that most people want bigger screens but the most sold device is still the iPhone... Don't you think that means that most people don't care about giant phones but about OS experience and more high quality screens/materials?
