New LG Super phone for Sprint?

LG LS970 superphone rumored: Krait quad-core, 2GB RAM, LTE and 13MP camera

Not to be outdone by its Korean rival, LG's reportedly preparing a potent new phone with some of Qualcomm's latest SoC hardware. According to BriefMobile's leak, it'll pack an LTE-friendly MDM9615 alongside the Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM -- something LG has already announced for its Optimus LTE2. A 2,1000 mAh battery will apparently power the 4.67-inch 1280 x 768 LCD display, while a Sony-matching 13-megapixel camera will face out the back. The leak -- which includes the decidedly abstract photo above -- reckons the LTE slab will arrive on Sprint, which tallies with the LS970 model number. We're cautiously holding out for something more official soon -- perhaps once the Now Network's flipped that 4G switch

The leak streak continues on Sprint and no — it’s not another mid-to-entry level device. This time, we have the LG LS970 making it’s way to the Now Network in the coming months and boasts the highest specs we’ve seen on a device to date.

The boys over at Brief Mobile were able to get an image and detailed specs for the LS970, known internally as the “G” — but launching possibly under the Sprint branded “LG Eclipse 4G LTE.” LG knows full well that they have to raise the stakes if they hope to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S3, and raise the stakes they have. First thing you’ll notice is the device is sexy. Dead sexy. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I’d even go as far as saying, I prefer this backside over the GS3′s (just sayin’).

But besides its wicked good looks are its almost scary specs. Whereas most devices launched/announced this year found themselves equipped with the dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor, the G will arrive on the scene with a beefier APQ8064 chipset. This is essentially the quad-core version of the dual-core S4 we’ve been seeing lately, and has a souped up Adreno 320 GPU for even better gaming performance. The LS970 will also come with a 4.67-inch 1280×768 LCD display (IPS?), 13MP rear/1.3MP front facing cameras, 16GB of internal storage, 2,100mAh battery, measures in at only 8.6mm thick and features compatibility with Sprint’s upcoming LTE network. The icing on the cake? The LS970 will come with an ample 2GB of RAM, making all your multitasking dreams come true (leaked 16Gb of RAM is in gigabits).

I don’t know about y’all, but after reading over all those specs, I’m in desperate need of a cold shower. The LG LS970 is due for Sprint during the 4th quarter of this year. What do you guys think? Could this phone be enough to change your perceptions of LG? Will the LS970 will find its way into your pocket?

Just the fact that this is made by lg... gross. Half the customer support I provide is to people with some god forsaken lg smartphone.

I'm sorry, but all of the experience I have with android phones is with the LG Optimus S. This thing is freakin' awesome! The only problems I've had on it were Sprint related, not LG. This thing is built like a tank, god-awful easy to root and maintain and can run ICS (which I currently am).

So I'm surprised to hear people complain about LG. Not so surprised that it's a brand-loyalty thing, but still surprised.

You know how it goes. A few bad apples and the whole reputation of the company is in the ditch. Actually, with Samsung on top and LG trying to play catch up, I can't see LG building junk and expecting to compete. LG will have to build awesome stuff to keep up, even awesome stuff no one buys. I'm trilled with my Optimus LTE 2.

All I care about is if it's a worldphone.
Okay, maybe not all, but I need a CDMA worldphone with balls and for Sprint to hurry up and upgrade their network in my area before I become excited about anything on their network.
I can't stand being in Europe/Africa again with a worthless CDMA android and a GSM dumbphone.
I am almost to the point of switching to GSM in the U.S.
If no alternatives (which equal my expectations of a GSIII equivalent spec'ed worldphone) present themselves, I'm switching to GSM. I see myself doing to much work in those regions in the future to stay limited by CDMA.
