If this is the actual device I will punch, hit and claw my way through the crowd at the Verizon store to get one!

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
The only problem I have with the rumors regarding the HTC One X 5 is that the battery is still non removable and is still only 1800 mha. This is still a deal breaker for me. HTC needs to put all their ducks in a row and do it right. I hope google recognizes this and adds a removable battery. It could be the perfect phone as I miss HTC and am not a fan of AmoLED.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
This honestly doesn't bother me that much. I have the Razr currently and I don't think it could get ANY worse than this thing! I mean it lasts 4 hours of moderate use and about 3 with heavy usage! I have to take a charger with me to school now and just plug in my phone to my school computer all day except for lunch but even then I am looking for a charger by 7-8pm! Now if you turn off ALL the radios and put the brightness down its almost impossible to kill the battery but whats the point of having a smartphone if you can't use it!

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
I'm not sure if your battery is faulty or not but 3 to 4 hours is not realistic even if you have your data, wifi, bluetooth, gps full brightness and every other option running while you are playing a game or watching a movie the whole time. You can't expect a phone with a huge screen to stay charged forever. Laptops can barely last 2 hours when being used full time, but that is still unrealistic and a one X will not be better.
Regardless I'm not sure what type of phone you had before the razr maxx but things drain faster on smartphones especially under heavy usage. Turning things off is part of saving your charge on a smartphone regardless of which phone you use.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
I have had 4 Thunderbolts, 3 Rezounds and now the Razr. Every phone before my current Razr has been sent back to Verizon due to issues and a CLN replacement was issued from there.
Out of all the devices the Razr takes the cake as to having the worst battery life! I get 4 hours if I have the brightness at half / two-thirds, 4G on, GPS on, BlueTooth OFF, and no auto-updating widgets besides the clock. I can get around 6-8 if the brightness is 1/3 of the way up (any lower and the display looks green and the black splotches show) , 4G on, GPS off, BlueTooth OFF, and no updating widgets except the clock. If I want / need anything more I have to turn off the data when I'm not using it. I don't want it to last forever but 8-12 hours doesn't seem like THAT much to ask for, my Rezound could do it and even my Thunderbolt could do it; now I realize the Razr is a quarter of the thickness of both previously mentioned devices but STILL its sad that I am looking for a charger at least 2-3 times a day. - 09-28-2012, 08:46 PM #22
Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
That is nasty. I have a gs2 and don't get amazing battery but have started turning everything off with the Go power control widget. I find data and GPS are the worst. I also use Easy battery saver which seems to help. Now I can definitely get through the day with moderate use.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
Yea it has been nasty dealing with Verizon. I don't get why they insist upon sending their CLN (Certified Like New) devices because they quite frankly SUCK! They say they go through a 100 point inspection but that is the biggest load of bull I have ever heard, I have gotten devices from them that are scratched, dinged, and broken which they then force me to send back my beautifully taken care of BRAND NEW phone that only has one or two problems! I want to send my current device back for the fact that I feel the battery to be faulty but if I have to listen to Verizon's tech support ONE more time I will FLIP! They are the stupidest bunch of people I have ever met (sorry if anyone reading this works as a tech support rep for Verizon but the ones I have had are dumber than a bunch of rocks)! One rep even had me to do FIVE factory resets to try and get my Rezound to work, IF IT DIDN'T WORK THE FIRST OR SECOND TIME IT FLIPPING ISN'T GONNA WORK THE 5TH TIME!
Hopefully the next nexus is a beast like the one being talked about and I can get out of Verizon's CLN devices and finally be able to get a phone that is brand new and if it has issues I can just flash / rom a different software to fix it! Let's just hope I don't physically break it and start the cycle of CLN devices all over again! lol - 09-29-2012, 09:53 PM #24

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!
What I like to know is the percentage of people who are actually going to buy a Nexus. From the information found during the Samsung v. Apple lawsuit the Galaxy Nexus had poor sales. Google is going to really need to hit this next generation of Nexus phones out of the park or else the Samsung Galaxy line of phones will be the only Android phone to talk about in front of Apple fans.
