Default Blind item: Two new HTC phones on AT&T

Don't have codenames and can't vouch for the source, so take this for what it's worth. Phones are said to be in testing, so who knows if they'll see the light of day:

    HTC Phone No. 1

    Screen: 4 inches, SLCD
    Camera: 8 megapixels
    Processor: 1.2GHz (presumably Qualcomm)
OS: Android 2.2 with the new Sense
    Memory: Unknown
Also: Slab (candybar), no slider keyboard. Otherwise looks like the HTC Knight/Speedy that we've seen rumored for Sprint. MicroUSB on the bottom, along with the headphone jack. (Says Phil: Let's hope that's either wrong or gets changed.) Battery door is smallish on the rear of the phone. Is attached somehow at the volume rocker and is kind of hard to remove at first.

    HTC Phone No. 2

    Screen: 3.2-inch, SLCD
    Camera: 5 megabpixels
    Processor: 1GHz (again, presumably Qualcomm)
    OS: Android 2.1
    Memory: Unknown
Also: Small like the Aria, but with smoother edges. More rounded, with brushed aluminum and gray, rubber-like coated. Battery door flips out, battery slips into the bottom. (Says Phil: Sounds a lot like the Legend to me.)

Negative. Don't know yet what HTC has planned for CES, either.

I'd like to see that #2 with a keyboard, and I'm game! I guess we'll see what time will tell.

Finally, a high-end HTC Android device headed for AT&T. I have been waiting since the Moto Backflip..... -_-

Why would AT&T need 4G? It's already fast... compared to full bars with Verizon.

I would want the second phone as I am not a big fan of big screens.
    HTC Aria (AT&T)
HTC Hero CDMA (Not under contract)

    Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm ready to switch phones, myself. But I want a class-leading, technology-filled device. Yet, I'm with ATT. Those two things rarely go hand-in-hand.

I'm skipping the Galaxy S phones and have really wanted an HTC device for a while. But, again, ATT and HTC don't seem to be very cozy together.

Hopefully this pans out and a nice, big, high-end HTC device will hit the ATT shelves within the next 6 months.

PS: wife wants an iPhone. of couse I'm going to get her one, but man I hate that.

Really looking forward to seeing that big guy in action. I've been waiting for AT&T to carry an Evo like device. Don't get me wrong, I love my Nexus One on AT&T but I'm eligible for an upgrade and I'm getting a little antsy. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for some of these newer devices to come out, either here or in other countries that use AT&T 3G bands.

My wife and I both have iPhones and are really interested in jumping ship to Android. We haven't had any major problems with ATT but are willing to jump ship to Verizon unless a high end HTC Android enters their lineup.
