birthday field not syncing to calendar

I tried changing a contact's birthday and adding one. It will sync the birthdays from the calendar to the phone but not the other way around. Has anyone else had this problem?

i think this might be a bug in Android. i have a similar problem with my EVO and Gmail Contacts.

yes i'm having the same problem....
i'm on the stock ROM and had not upgrade to 4.0.2
is this fixed in 4.0.2?

To get this working, I had to subscribe to "Contacts' birthdays and events" on my Google calendar (it's under "Browse Interesting Calendars" under "Other Calendars" in the web Google calendar.) Once I was subscribed there, I forced a calendar sync on my Nexus, and the new Birthdays calendar showed up under "Calendars to Display".
I couldn't get birthdays to show at all without this, so I'm not sure if it's the same issue you're having - but this works for me.

I'm already subscribed and it still doesn't work. I'll also add that I have 3 other Android phones and the GNex is the only 1 that doesn't show birthdays.
