Default Easily identifiable difference bewteen the Note 10.1 earlier and 10.1 2014 edition

I found a galaxy note 10.1 for sale. I have put my hands on it and checked it out and all appears flawless and properly functioning. The price is great. When I go back to look at it I want to be able to tell if it is the 2012/2013 version or the 2014 version. Is there a simple way for me to determine that not having one of each in my hands? Thanks in advance.

I would say the easiest way would be the model #, in the General Settings area,,, the 2014 is Model SM-P600

The previous one was model GT-N8010

Also the back on the 2014 edition is the fo leather feel to it while the older version has the glossy back to it and the s-pen is in a different location

Also I believe the s-pen can be docked either way ala note 3 on the 2014. Whereas the last model could not.

Thanks all. It is greatly appreciated. In your more educated opinions than mine, is the non-2014 edition, in mint condition, worth $300?

is it the 16gb or 32gb? I guess 300 is a good price for the older model. a good deal for the 16gb, a great deal for the 32gb

I'd say go for it :-). if you don't need/want/crave the extra power and features of the 2014 , and rather hold onto the extra 250 bucks , 300 for a very nice tablet is a very good deal

I'd be cautious as you don't know what the state of the battery is on an older used model. Is it still at or near full potential or has it been charged/discharged so many times that you can now only get 70% of the original battery life? ...just something to consider.

I'm late to the party, but I would say the easiest way to check is to look on the bottom edge of the device to see if the charging port is a micro-usb port or the larger 30-pin port. The 2012 model still had the 30-pin connection.

Anyway, did you get the device?
