Hey all. For the most part I have been very pleased with my Note, however, there is an issue that is driving me crazy. The YouTube app on this thing is awful! It doesn't matter if I open a video from the web, Twitter, Facebook, or the yt app itself, the only thing I get is sound and a black picture. I have cleared cache uninstalled and reinstalled but it doesn't change anything. The same videos I can open on my s4 and they play without a problem. Am I the only one having this problem?

Try a system cache partition wipe, which is different from clearing the app cache. You won't lose any personal data or settings.

    - Turn Off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 device.
    - Wait for 10 seconds, Then move to the next step.
    - Press and hold Volume Up key + Power key.
    - Keep pressing the above keys until the Samsung Logo appears,Then release Power key only.
    - When you see Factory reset / System Recovery menu on screen release the Volume Up Key.
    - Use Volume Down key to select Wipe Cache Partition option.
    - Use Power key to confirm the operation.
    - After performing the hard reset, Select Reboot System Now option, And confirm it using Power key.

Sounds like a Flash problem....black screen while video is playing.

But Flash shouldn't matter for the YouTube app, right?

I think that is right. I think YouTube uses HTML.

Hey all, thanks for the replies. B. Diddy I did the system cache partition wipe and it worked for about 3 videos. It's now back to doing the same thing. It is a strange issue because there are times where the video will start to play with both sound and picture then the picture will either completely freeze in that frame or go black but sound continues to play as normal. I can load same video on my S4 and it plays (both picture and sound) without any problem. Any other suggestions don't hesitate to fire them at me, I'm out of ideas. Thanks

Have you tried clearing the app's cache in Application Manager? If that doesn't do it, try logging out of your account in the YouTube app and re-logging in. If not, then go ahead and clear cache (again) AND data from the Application Manager. If that doesn't do it, uninstall the app, restart your phone, re-install. I've never had issues with mine...

I have cleared the cache in the app through app manager but it didn't fix it. Will try uninstall and reinstall when I get home today. Thanks
