A few months ago after struggling to copy an 8gb Stones 50th anniv. concert file to a 16gb sd card or usb stick, I learned that android can not read ntfs formatted media, and fat32 has a 4gb file size limit. So the solution for my tablet was to format the media xFat. Works perfectly in my Note and on my Galaxy s4 phone.
FF to today, just downloaded a movie, wanted to watch it on my Samsung tv. Copied the file to my xfat formatted 16gb usb stick. Plugged it into my 2 thousand dollar tv and, no device found. Copied to a fat32 formatted 2gb stick, and sees it just fine.
Why are the tablet and phone able to read xfat, but tv not? Any one have any theories?
I'd ask Samsung, but I'm sure whoever I get on the phone would not have a clue,
