    Question Browser / Chrome - Mobile Sites...why?

    Hey Guys...

Just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) 2 days ago. In browsing some sites I noticed that I am immediately taken to the mobile site and there is no option to view the full site. It is the same in the stock browser as well as in Chrome.

Are there any settings to change this?

    Thanks!
    Matt

Welcome to the forums. There is no setting in the device. The site can detect whether you are using a mobile device or not. Many site do have a full desktop version. It is usually in small print near the bottom of the page. And I agree that mobile sites are horrid.

Also, if you bring up the chrome menu, there is an option to "request desktop site" which will take you to the full site.

I wish somehow it could be set by the device! The exact same issue with a mobile view being presented with some sites used to happen with my previous tablet, a Galaxy 10.1v. Oh well, you get used to it depending upon the site and browser you are using.

Welcome and congrats!! I am a 4 day newbie with the 2014.. I got a locked grin, and I am sure you got one too. I use Chrome most of the time, but a lot of sites have their own apps, which makes things better..Example, ESPN have their own app, and it rocks..Other sites I use Chrome. IMO, the more you use it, the more adapt you will be.

    Congrats again..

I started using the Dolphin browser since I can set it to default to the "desktop view". In this regard it works great. We it the default browser you have to select this view each time.

I thought it was just me. I can't stand the mobile versions of websites. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I just noticed that the native web browser has a box when clicking the menu button for desktop site that should take you there.

To the left of the home button the is a soft button that looks like a 3/4 rectangle with two bars in it. Try that

I use puffin browser, it provides adobe flash even for non-rooted devices! It also has the desktop site feature.
