Apps upside down

For some reason, the Instagram app and Fidelity investment app is upside down and won't rotate. In order to view it right side up, the tablet cover needs to open with the binding on the right side of the tablet instead of the normal left like a book. Any idea why?

Do you have a cover with a magnet? That sometimes can cause malfunctions with this tablet. The magnets have to be very precise and not too strong. It can also interfere with the Notification bar and/or S-Pen functionality. Try it without the cover.

No, I have the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition samsung cover.

That one, in theory, shouldn't cause issues, but there are magnets there. If you take the cover off, do the apps misbehave? If not, the magnet on the cover might have moved, or worst case, the sensor in the tablet moved.
