Couple of questions before buying a Note 10.1
Two part question:
a. Giving that there is expandable storage in these, what's the real benefit of spending the extra $50 for 32gigs when you can have 80 gigs (16+64)? I'm not real familiar with Android, but, do apps install on the system memory and are extra files (music, movies, etc.) stored on the expandable? Can apps be installed on the expandable memory? I have a couple microSD's lying around at home and I was wondering if someone can give me a better reason to spend the extra $50 for the extra 16 gigs instead of just using the microSD slot?
b. I was reading that at CES a rep was saying that by the end of this month Verizon will have this tablet on the lte network. I don't know if that's in USA, Europe, Australia, etc. Can anyone speculate how much extra one of those will cost as opposed to the WIFI version? Also, coming from someone who is pretty tech-savvy but has never owned a tablet, is it worth waiting and getting a lte version? I have an iphone 4s (work/personal phone, if I had it my way I'd have the Galaxy), so I guess I could technically pay the extra money in the future to make it a hotspot if need be....
Thank you for reading/answering. - 01-19-2013, 03:09 PM #2
Re: Couple of questions before buying a Note 10.1
Unless your rooted you can't move apps to micro sd. It's a Samsung thing. I've only had my note for about 4 months now, and I have to be picky about what apps I install because I'm running out of room. All my media files are on my micro sd card. I do have a couple of games that are taking up a lot of space that I can delete if I need to, but it sucks that I even have to worry about it. If I could go back in time I would get the 32 gb version.
Later on down the line I'll probably root the device to get more space.
As far as the LTE version, I just tether my phone to the tablet using FoxFi on the phone and Pdanet(tablet) on my tablet. I'm sure there's a similar app to Foxfi on the Iphone. Using those two apps I pay no tethering fee. - 01-20-2013, 10:54 PM #3

Do they have a 32GB version in white? I've never seen it. I've thought about exchanging it for the bigger one
