Google+ exhausting battery

Just recently the battery on my Galaxy Note 10.1 has started to drain at a much faster rater than it used to. I looked up my battery status and noticed Google+ is using up anywhere from 67% to sometimes 94% of my battery. I do not have Google+ actively running, have cleared my RAM, etc. but it still shows as an item using up my battery. Is there a way to remove Google+ entirely or at least disable the application from running?

It sounds like that Google+ is backing up your pictures or video. I would check your settings to see if it is set to only backup photos and videos while it is charging.

If I'm right, then after everything has been backed up your battery usage should come back to normal.
