Problem with my tablet!

I started charging my phone at 11p.m. and stopped at 5.30 in the morning. When I switched off the power supply, I expected the screen to light up but it didn't. I pressed the on button and nothing came on. I decided to wait until the afternoon to check on it. Unfortunately, it was still unresponsive. Help please? My phone is surely not kaput? I've been having my phone since end of 2012. Thanks.

You might try a new battery. Last I knew batteries should be replaced annually but someone else may have more current information.
