Uninstall unsuccessful on malware found on my device. What's my next stop?

AC Question

uninstall unsuccessful on malware found on my device.

I have a samsung galaxy 10.1 original version. i recently sold it to one of my younger brothers who, as it turns out, was doing some pretty stupid stuff with it without thinking.
I went through a loooong process of going through the app manager in settings and just wiped everything off it. I've done several factory resets. I've gotten rid of nearly everything effecting it aside from when I open a browser, whether it be chrome or the generic internet browser given, a second page pops up of advertisements. I've been through the settings on both browsers and disabled popups and have accomplished nothing. Certain ad blocking apps have only added more ads and most were gone when I deleted those apps. I've now downloaded "Lookout" which has proved itself mostly effective in locating the malware under names I had been aware of. I upgraded to the pro version for 2.99. a list of malware found comes up. I've been into the settings for each one and cleared the cache and disabled. On each, i press uninstall through the lookout app and each one comes up with "Uninstall not successful" I've found out the ads are coming from a site called "mobilecore" and Im having some severe trouble getting rid of it. I've deleted every app off the device that I can. I've been into device administrators and unticked the boxes, or tried with just the lookout app or the android device allowed. None of which are working and Im at the point of snapping this note in half. The note coming up on each says "This application pretends to be a legitimate app but it is not. It will run secretly in the background and upload user data to a third party. This may result in a loss of privacy"
The other note that comes up for other things listed says "This application contains an aggressive ad network that secretly tracks sensitive device information. It can cause a loss of privacy to the user"
And the other is "This pretends to be a legitimate app but it is malicious. It will attempt to root the device and allow a third party to install additional apps. This can cause the installation of additional malware".

Im scared to even use it. What on earth should I do with this? I have a list coming up saying that 5 things found are a malware alert and 2 others as adware alert and one other as riskware alert.

Re: uninstall unsuccessful on malware found on my device.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a tough situation. Try this another factory reset, but first:

1. If you were using Chrome on the tablet, go to Chrome on your computer and clear all browsing history and cookies all the way back to the beginning of time, to make sure it isn't syncing some malicious sites to the tablet's Chrome.
2. On the tablet, go to Settings>Backup & Reset, and uncheck Automatically Restore.
3. Now do the factory reset.
4. When you're done with the Setup Wizard after the factory reset, go immediately to the Play Store and stop any app from automatically installing.
5. Before you install any 3rd party apps, see if the problems persist. If not, start installing apps one by one very carefully, being cautious with games (especially gambling ones and games that look like ripoffs of very popular ones), "RAM booster/cleaner" apps, and (of course) porn.

If you notice that the device is still acting oddly immediately after the factory reset, then try reinstalling the firmware, either using Samsung Kies, or by flashing it using Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html
