Sorting Contacts

I just got a Galaxy Note II LTE.

I have been trying to find a solution to my problem that I cannot change the sorting of my contacts.

Under Settings in the Contacts app, there is no option to 'Sort List By'

In contacts Under > menu > settings > you can sort by first name or last name. You can also check the box to only show contacts with phone numbers.

I think he may be confused by the word "menu." Basically every stock app has its own menu screen. When you are in that app press the button on the lower left next to the home button. That is the menu or settings button. In that screen is the option you seek.
