Stock messaging app stuck with a "1" notification

Hi everyone,

I only use the stock messaging app. As of today it is apparently stuck at "1" under the notification. i tried to open up all the texts to get ride of it but cant. Also restarted, rebooted and cleared the app data the phone but no luck.

any advice?

I had a similar problem with the unread notification on the gmail app, I ended up having to delete the 2 emails that would not go to unread. Sounds like you may have already tried that with your messaging problem.

Ok, I know this will sound somewhat elementary but the stock sms app can be bizarre sometimes. Just make sure you actually opened the last text you received (like you were reading it), then hit the back button until you have completely backed out of the sms app. I'm sorry if this sounds painfully basic, but the stock sms app can act up and be stubborn. Did you try this?

If that doesn't work, delete the app icon from your dock, restart your phone, then add it back to your dock. Did this work?

thats for the advice, but still didnt work. i tried to manuall click all my messages and back out of each one and that didn't work. i did the delete app from dock and restart with no luck also

nope...theres a few apps in the play store that cover this...trying them now

sms cleaner just deleted all my texts and didnt fix the problem....trying reset sms now
