Why do pictures/videos show up as generic black icons with a lightning bolt?

Pictures/Videos Show Up As Generic Black Icons with Lightning Bolt

Phone detail: Samsung Galaxy Note II, Android 4.4.2

Hi all,

my phone has a memory card. When I took a picture/video, sometime it shows as the black icon with lightning bolt. Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

Welcome to Android Central! Are those images or videos being saved to the SD card instead of Internal Storage? If so, then I'd suspect a faulty or corrupt card--try a different card.
