What problem are you referring to? The inability to write to an SD Card?

If you install a ROM, then you shouldn't have a problem writing to the SD Card.

If not, there is this app that can supposedly fix it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...pp.sdfix&hl=en

OMG BECKY IT'S ALMOST HERE. The greatest tool to modify almost any HTC phone is on the verge of release. Unlock bootloaders, flash recoveries, root, and more. Open source, powerful, end-to-end encryption, enhanced by Droplr and Amazon's Secure Content Distribution Network. Best of all, it's 100% free. All built by me. Get ready to rock!

Thanks, it appears to have worked.

The kitkat SD restrictions (it seems to me) had crippled (to some extent) my note 3.
It bothered me enough so, I reluctantly rooted my phone.
I am not technical enough to be confident in nor to take full advantage of being rooted.
Upon reflection, I don't buy Googles
'security ' story. It is more likely that Google is moving against Samsung since Samsung is one of the few companies still supporting SD cards.
