Titanium backup. I didn't uninstall them... Yet. Don't really need to. I just "froze" them which prevents them from running and hides their icons etc.

Try a YouTube search for how to freeze unwanted apps with Titanium backup.... Or something to that effect. Should get you going. Easier than me typing :)

Link2SD will also freeze apps.

Note that Chainfire's auto root will not root the AT&T or Verizon versions. Up to 4.4.2, you could root them with no problem using Towel Root As of 4.4.4, there's no way to root them without setting the Knox flag. If you're still at 4.4.2 and want to keep root, freeze your updater or flash a ROM that doesn't have one.
