Tmobile, got my note 3 free!! (warning long)
I gotta put this plug in for Tmobile here..I just found out that they gave me my Note 3 for FREE!!
I will shorten this story
About 2 months ago, I got the Galaxy S4 from Tmobile, I purchased it out right for $608. + tax.. After having it for about 10 days, I longed for the 32gb version of the S4.. Since ATT, and Verizon had the 32gb, I figured Tmobile will have it soon. I put my Tmobile account on suspension ($10 to $12 a month when suspended) and waited. A couple months went buy, still not 32gb at Tmobile. One of the reasons I stayed with Tmobile is their plan. For $70 (50-20 for unlimited everything) I also get a free hotspot, that can take 5 DEVICES, and I have 2.5 gbs FREE for devices, with the option to go for more.
Some of my friends don't have internet in their house, they just use the hotspot off the Tmobile phone.
Anyway, when seeing the Note 3 and that it was above the S4 in every way, I called Tmobile and ordered it. The Tmobile rep asked me did I want the monthly $20 a month option. I told them no, paying outright. The rep told me I could pay outright two ways.. Fully pay, or pay half and the other half in two month payments of $185..Since I was ready to pay the whole $708+taxes, the one where I pay half would allow me to buy the Galaxy Gear.. I okayed the half-pay plan, the rep did all that, gave my card number, and gave me an order number. This was going to be overnight shipping. I was looking for it the next day. Next day come, no email with tracking, so I called. Here is where the chit started and caused Tmobile to give me my $708 Note 3 for free.
The rep told me my order has been cancelled. WTF! after 20 minutes on the phone, they told me the creidit dept cancelled my order. I screamed bloody murder! Why? Because you have already charged my card, took my money, and the only way I knew my ordered was cancelled was because I called in. To shorten, after talking to 3 supervisors, and maybe another higher CEO, and being on the phone for over an hour, the CEO realized that the mistake was on Tmobile's part. I told them, in a JOKINGLY way, that for all the trouble I been through, Tmobile should GIVE me the Note 3 or let me have the Gear at the since cancelled 30% discount. They declined the 30% discount, and I didn't find out till 3 days later, they they gave me the Note 3 for free. Looking at my account, and since I had paid for half ($375) I see a $380, I figured that is what I owe in two payments, but in calling today, I found out that was a CREDIT. Tmobile refunded my $375 in the form of a credit, and I don't owe anything. Not only that I was lucky enough to get BestBuy to price match the Galaxy Gear for $209..
So, I am a 73 year old man, that likes young things, setting here with a spanking brand new Note 3 and Galaxy Gear all for $209+Tax..
I gotta give it to Tmobile, they treated me like a king. Along with their super plan, free hotspot + 5 devices free, can't beat that with a stick..
Oh, and the mods changed my nickname from "cehowardS4 to cehowardNote3"... Ha, I am in Smartphone Heaven..
