You can not remove flipboard/magazine apps. Built in bloatware I believe. You can disable it from your home button, control what info it refreshes and put a different launcher so when you swipe down on the screen, it's not launched. Otherwise, you will need to root.

If what you want is to stop Flipboard from working completely go into the settings....more...application manager and disable Flipboard. You can not uninstall it because is part of the bloatware but it can be disable.

Technically speaking YOU can remove it, you just need to be rooted to do so. Then of course if you want to ever get an OTA you must go back to stock before accepting an OTA not that you should EVER accept an OTA while rooted in the first place.

It shouldn't be draining much battery at all unless you're signed into it and /or open it.

This sounds like a good solution.

You can't uninstall. You can only uninstall updates and then it reloads the updates again.

Unfortunately Nova launcher disables things like being able to see how many texts or emails you have. Otherwise I love it but that was a deal breaker for me.

No its not included, but you just have to add the free Tesla unread app to get that functionality

Thanks for this I still find that I I'm near the home button and swipe up, it will bring up flipbook again. Time to change the setting in this app. I hate flipbook.

Not if you add the Tesla plugin, I find it works great, gives notification count for calls, messages and email, including gmail. You can even select which mailboxes to count.

We cannot get the Flipboard from popping up on our 9 year olds Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Very inappropriate things!!! Please advise. I want it removed. Also, any suggestions on any kid (safe web-browsing - app blocker) protection app? Thank you!!

Welcome to Android Central! As recommended earlier in this thread, you can Disable system apps by going to the App Manager (or Settings>Apps>All), selecting Flipboard, and tapping Disable. If you don't see the Disable button, then you probably have to Uninstall All Updates first, after which the Disable button will appear. Disabling doesn't remove the app from the device (since it's preinstalled bloatware), but it will prevent the app from opening.

As already mentioned earlier in this thread, that still doesn't allow one to disable Flipboard. There is a "Turn off" button but it's grayed out and pushing it does nothing. Even pressing "Force stop" doesn't enable one to disable Flipboard. It seems like rooting is the only way to truly get the job done.
