Did Verizon mess up?
A few days ago I had to exchange my wife's Note 3 and my Note 3 because of defects. I got an order e-mail confirmation for my phone being charged for the replacement while it's being shipped but my wife's confirmation e-mail doesn't show her replacement being charged. Our question is, is she getting her Note 3 replacement for free? Can they still charge her later if she doesn't return the broken unit?

Yes, you will be charged if you don't return the bad phone.
