I couldn't get this to work.

I paired the phone with my car (Nissan Juke), but only voice calls going through the stereo, music still plays from phone's speaker (I tried samsung music, google music).

Any idea?

Go to bt settings and select cog next to "car multimedia" profile or whatever yours is called. Make sure and check box for media and calls. If that doesn't work try deleting the profile and set it up again.

Is your car radio capable of playing music via bluetooth?

What year is your car? I just started a thread trying to keep a list of what cars are supported, and are not, and to what extent.

Re: play music through bluetooth to car stereo?

I have installed a Samsung Galaxy tablet into my car and used it as my main car stereo and navigator. It's too bad there wasn't a way though to have the tablet power on when you turn the car on like a stereo. Well, i guess there is Tasker, but it's a paid app and relatively complicated. Some days ago i stumbled upon an app that definitely seems to simplify this basic purpose. It is called Autosleeper Auto power ON-OFF Is there anyone who has used it? I am very happy with it's performance, but i'd like some feedback for this app or alternatives..

Most of the automobile audio systems don't support but if auxiliary input port you can use Audio Pulse Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver (TENERGY) device plugged in to the auxiliary-in port. Here, you have to charge the battery when needed.

Perhaps your car stereo doesn't support the Bluetooth protocol that streams music.

I have the Pioneer AVH-P8400 in my vehicle and it connects to my Note 3 and begins streaming Milk Music. It sounds great.

Another option for OP is a Bluetooth Fm transmitter. I got it for my car. Completely wireless except for the bendable stick you connect to the cigarette lighter port

Works great!

I have one of these. They work great and you don't have to replace your car stereo!

@dakeb

I have installed a sony MEX-BT3100U too. It worked beautifully with my galaxy s2. However I have recently upgraded to a note 3. I can play bluetooth audio music, the phone pairs and reads the address book. I can place a call using the sony controls, but the mic and speakers do not work. I know that the call has been placed by switching on the speaker on the phone. The same with receiving calls. I have done a factory reset on the phone..no luck. Have you had such a problem? I am begining to wonder if I need to change the handset. Any words of wisdom..much appreciated!
