Should 4G be lit up the same time as I have an excellent wifi signal??

When you connect to WiFi, the data symbol shouldn't be there. Could just be there for a few seconds though

This. AT&T, Verizon, and others keep the data symbol up if a caller ID function is enabled. Once disabled it should cause the data symbol to go away when on wifi .
