What part of the LA area are you from? I live in the Northridge area and don't get anything near those speeds. (also have Verizon)

I work in downtown but live in the sfv. The shots at my home tower were outdoors, in my house this is what I got :

I think it's time to come clean and reveal you are an advance scout from an alien Galaxy and have cloaked your communications device to look like the humanoid's puny instrument.

You slipped up by revealing what yours can do. 4000gbs and 138 mps? Not from this planet!

Now come quietly and we can dissect you painlessly.

Just as an aside -
In the recent past, at least when bar phones were 2g and maybe later, the 5 bar signal strength icons were debunked by a well regarded knowledge show who normally check their facts.
Also when phones had short antennas before they died out, eg Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, flip phones etc, these were also proved to be ineffectual, so had no material benefit, but were a marketing ploy.

Not stating this as fact, but from a comedy panel questions show, QI, that were full of well researched, interesting facts and has a highly regarded presenter/actor/comedian and gadget freak.

I wondered if Android make legitimate use of the 5 bar icon.

GSam's new signal graph for me is nornally always exactly between medium and high, or drops to nothing.

I can't avail of LTE until I end a contract in July, but I max at around 17 mbs on Speed Test.

I either have a signal or I don't.

There is no standard for the bars. I find it does give a general indication, but I prefer to see the dbm directly. I have an app that leave always running in the notification bar

Tapatalk. It is free on the play store. Imo, the best option for android Central on mobile.

The lady meant what app shows the signal strength on your screen.

You ambassadors and moderators must be stretched trying to keep tabs on so many quoted posts in threads.

I couldn't do it, but I can't tie my shoelaces.

I'm glad you mentioned this, I was recently told by another poster I lacked reading comprehension. 😕 Sometimes I read and respond quickly. I didn't realize we were being tested lol. 😃
