Why won't my screen go to sleep?

Screen wont go to sleep

I recently received a Galaxy Note 3 through insurance and the phone will not go into sleep mode. Everytime the phone screen turns off it immediately turns back on. As you can guess, this is a major drain of the battery and causes the phone to take forever to charge.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I assume this is not the only device that has experienced this problem before.

Do you have coverage through Asurion? Most of our replacements come with a 12 month limited warranty. Could be a total coincidence but go to settings>general and see if you see a developer options section. If so make sure stay awake isn't checked off.
