My Note 3 turns on but the screen does not, how can I get the screen to turn on?

My Note 3 turns on but the screen does not

charges but power light comes on can hear text come thru as well as calls

Could be as simple as a dead screen, bad connection to the circuit board. Do you have carrier insurance on it since its outside the 1 year warranty. You can likely get a new digitizer and do it yourself or have a repair shop do it.
